After Taro marathon (42Km), Trebbia race was the longest one in the race calendar of those years. 1967 edition was won by Roberto d'Angelo (bib 74) from Ivrea among K1 Seniors, and Giuseppe d'Angelo among K1 Juniors, that follows Roberto at the Rivergaro finish wearing an original hand made helmet and an inflatable life vest. Athletes from Ivrea had very light fiberglass boats, built by Giulio Valzolgher, founder and president of Ivrea Canoe Club, seen in the first scenes of the video side by side with Roberto d'Angelo, and in front of Ivrea CC minibus with Guglielmo Granacci.
The rear part of that kayak model -suggested by Roberto d'Angelo- was increased in volume, and the boat bow was hugely raised and enlarged, in order to reduce the pitch on the waves: it was really a revolution that changed the concept of a downriver boat, considering the typical streamlined shapes of that time.
At the prize giving ceremony we can recognize Augusto Fossati of C.C. Vigevano and Bruno Roberto of Gruppo Milanese Canoa, valuable downriver athletes with Andrea Alessandrini. C2 race was won by the crew Canepa–Rizzi of C.C. Milano (bibs 58 and 59), undisputed pioneers of agonistic canadian discipline in Italy..

Vittorio Visconti, the memorable president of Canoa Club Milano, used to travel everywhere to film all the most important canoeing events. Vittorio left us an incredibly valuable film archive for our sport. WildWater TV Italia, in collaboration with Canoa Club Milano, carried out digitalization, editing and broadcasting of this fantastic footage, in order to share and live again the glorious past of canoeing sports.
